Bureau of Loose Change
Hello City is currently talking with Andrew Wisdom of Distilled Wisdom to explore a concept we call ‘The Bureau of Loose Change’. This concept is connected to Clay Shirky’s idea of the cognitive surplus – of people using their free time for creative ends rather than just consumption.
We were inspired by how many talented people we know are now operating flexibly and in small companies, rather than swallowed up by large corporations, and how they might be brought together to unlock the wicked problems of our age.
We were also inspired by what can happen when you reimagine the many small things around us as potential assets – things such a piece of land that won’t be developed for a period of years, the small change rather than the big budget, willing volunteers, new ideas and existing programs that could be bent in a new direction.
If you would like to join in this somewhat rambling conversation, get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
