Hello City developed Little Picnic as a way to explore new business models that support emergent cultural practice and pop-up activation of streets.
Little Picnic offers individuals the chance to run their own small business with no capital outlay or start-up costs and for as long or as little as they’d like – starting with just one hour. We call these individuals micro-franchisees.
The micro-franchisee hires a package made up of a charming retro caravan, party accessories, the Little Picnic website, marketing materials and booking system from Hello City as the parent company and acquires bookings from customers for picnic parties in the inner Northern suburbs of Melbourne. They then run the picnic parties, keeping a share of the profits and returning a proportion to Hello City.
