The Conversation Rickshaw offered residents, visitors and workers in City of Port Phillip a free ride in a rickshaw by a local bicycle tour guide in exchange for sharing their thoughts about transport.

The project was created by Hello City on behalf of City of Port Phillip to launch the draft Move, Connect, Live integrated Transport Strategy and to catalyse an all-of-city conversation in response to the draft strategy.

Over the month of July the people of City of Port Phillip enthusiastically participated in this engagement activity. Over 90 people took a spin in a rickshaw and shared their thoughts about the future and the key objectives of the draft strategy while activity experiencing the roads, streets and parks of the local neighbourhood.

The second element of the engagement activity was a targeted research project on the international program Cycling Without Age and local housing association Wintringham which explores the benefits of community development projects using alternative transport methods.
